Shady

That's some messed up shit you've cooked together.

Some glitch, some techno, something that reminds me of dark ambience, I actually kinda like it. It is extremely twisted, gives me the feel of some underground, illegal business going on in a movie.

I especially like the part at about 1.25, the song is boosted up to a whole nother level, really kicks it into life. I don't know if I like the fade-out, I feel like a song like this should be ended suddenly with a proper outro, but you said it was a WIP, so I'm guessing you'll do something about that.

I enjoyed how you managed to make the song sound very randomized, but organized, at the same time.

Awechum - you weren't the only one who didn't like the fadeout IMO, so I'll definitely be fixing that once I get the time to.

And wow do people think this dark. Its amazing what a bit of reverb on an acid bassline can do, I guess.

Pretty amazing.

This is really a gem. This really feels like a forest. With secrets. In a fantasy game. I'd play to this.

Very well composed, and really gives off an amazing atmosphere that sets the mood for the situation. I believe it was a harp you used, it played very well. Only problem I have is that it's a tad shallow. It lacks something to back it up, something at the bottom. Not necessarily base, but some soft tones to fill in the void this song has now.

I'd get down to this.

Holy house, batman, this song is dirty!

I can easily hear the Benassi influence, weird thing is, I like this track, while I really don't like Benassi.

The bass synth is incredibly cool, easy to follow, simple and not repetitive, and it brings the song forwards with ease.

Intro might be a bit cheesy, but I like it either way. The mixing you've done on this track is great, honestly. The wooshing sounds fit in very well.

I'd download it, but seeing as it's just a WIP, I wont, but I'd love to hear the finished piece, so pitch me a PM when it's out. I want that on my list of music I dig to.

I'm very happy that you like it, thank you :)
I will send you the full version when I finish it.

Not sure where to place this

Trying to put it into a movie or a video game, but I can't really decide where this would fit best.

I adore the eerie feeling I get at the beginning, that can easily go into a creepy game, not necessarily horror, but something like Castlevania.

The bass drum sample is great, but I can't say the same about the rest of the samples you've used. Not a big fan of them. That said, I do like the rhythmics section on this song, it's very well done.

The underlying synth throughout basically the entire song really fills in a void, gives a feeling of depth to it.

Both the outro and the intro are very good. You cut off the song juuuust right.

***

It's not a bad track, but it's not quite industrial either, IMO. Sure, Industrial is all about quirky, trippy, dirty, but at times this song just sounded extremely random, like you just put in a few notes to make it sound a bit quirky.

The song doesn't sound entirely finished, and though there is variation, the part that starts at about 2.20 sounds very out of place. The melody does carry over, but it's very different to the rest of the song, and I don't feel it adds much to it.

Also, I'm not a huge fan of fade-outs, especially in music like this, which is dirty. The intro was okay, it built up, and I liked how you sped things up as you went.

Fable-esque

To me, there's nothing wrong with this song.

The samples you've used are top quality. Composition is flawless, IMO, and execution is crisp.

I love the underlying bass tune, which sort of creates a disturbing image throughout the songs. Take the perfection and mess with it until it is broken. I do get the boss battle feel.

There is an odd pause at about 1.40, but what comes after is without a doubt the best part of the song. Energized, heroic and disturbing at once. Love it.

Wow, I appreciate the high score. :]

I'm glad the overall feel came out right, what you mentioned was exactly what I was going for.

Sound quality needs work

That is my main problem with the track.

Song somewhat reminds me of Thursday at times, at least their calmer music, mainly due to the vocals.

The vocals are terrible during the refrain, though, because of the two vocals not hitting the same notes. It could work out with just the one, falsetto is cool and stuff, but I don't think it's very fitting for this song.

Guitar solo was terribly off, didn't go well with the song at all. It was good, I just don't think it has anything to do in the middle of this song.

Drums were probably the best part of the song. They were study and could be relied on when it came to tempo.

Personally I think you're having problems finding out exactly what kind of music you want to play. This sounds just a bit too messy.

Different

Different isn't bad, it's pretty good. This song doesn't sound very trancey, though.

I am amazed at how you made this song varied, yet always keeping it the same song throughout. It never feels random, and all the sections fit together perfectly. THe transitions are also very well done.

I do think the intro was a bit dragged out, the song could've kicked up a good bit earlier. Drums have more of a techno feel over them, than a trancey feel.

Outro is pretty good, a better end to the song than the intro for the beginning.

ReklessCreati0n responds:

I still have yet to find the difference to trance and techno, but thats just me I guess, and thanks for the review. I like to create a subtle intro to my songs, to get people to imagine and create a certain picture in their mind to tell a story while listening.

Sinister

Very dark and sinister, I really like it, though I think you should've done something with the rhythmics.

The synths you've used are absolutely perfect for the style you're going for. Remind me of old-school horror games. Only thing that somewhat ruins it is the repetitive drums, that really make it feel less scary and more in-your-face, I guess. Just ruins the feel you've got going a tad.

Loops very well, can't even notice it stopping. Would fit nice for a boss fight, or a dungeon level in a video game, methinks.

Pretty neat

Reminds me of an epic fight in a Japanese RPG game. Truly fits the title.

The bassline is very cool, I love the sample you're using, really keeps the melody up. Same goes for the simple, albeit good, rhythmics section. They're a tad repetitive after a while, could do with some mixing up.

The song probably loops just fine. I get a split second of silence between the end and the beginning, but that might very well just be my internet or Newgrounds' fault.

MeteorManMike responds:

Awesome, epic fight is what I was aiming for! I admit that it is a bit repetitive, I just didn't know what more I could do with it. The loop break was probably just NG, I made dang certain that it looped properly. Thanks for reviewing!

I like it when people call me bro.
