Mint

Though the intro seems to drag on just a bit too much, the song itself is very well composed and sounds great on my speakers.

As the melodies start, along with the beats, you flesh out the song a bit, simply adding more to it. I like the calmness of the song, it's not often I get something housey that is so calm. Really nice for a change from time to time.

You also have some pretty neat rhythmics sections in there. Only problem I have is that it got a tad repetitive after a while, at least the synths did.

I totally get what you're saying. I've only made one pluck synth, so the variation is pretty much lost on the song. Furthermore, I have a bad habit of making stuff go on for too long, and that's evident in the almost 2 minute intro.

I've already started working on new plucks so I can try another House song, because I really liked how this turned out.

Massive indeed

I'm not sure what this reminds me of, but this track is massive, and I'm not talking about the playtime of it.

FIrst off, the intro gives a great picture of what's to come. The rhythms, the vocals, the quirky synth bleeps, sounds great and readies the listener for what's to come. The somewhat wobbly bass that comes in backs the whole deal up very nicely.

The rhythmics section in this song is absolutely awesome. It's varied, but not random, keeps the song pushing on, sounds great during transitions, samples are perfect for this track. The vocal sample you've used is a nice addition, I love what you did with it. Sure, it might get annoying to some, but I rather like it. Hammers the message into your head.

Feels like I heard some Benassi-influences in the track as well. Might just be general house, but that's what I thought of at least, with the deep bass.

Both the intro and outro are great. Outro might feel like it drags on a bit, but not enough to sbtract any points.

Nicely composed

I'm actually really enjoying this track, even though it's not my kind of music. Dance sounds about right, might be a bit more techno, but that really isn't a problem. Genres are for journalists, you know (:

The intro was really nice, built up nicely and got the song going.

The rhythmics weren't exactly entertaining, they were quite dull and repetitive, but in a song like that, I can't really demand intricate and complicated rhythms. It kept the pulse up and pushed the song forward. Other than that, they were very well executed.

Especially liked the drop at 2.08. Synths are very well done, sounds clean and just right for the nature of the song.

The ending was maybe a bit abrupt, probably because of the buildup just before. The ending itself was not bad at all, I just don't know if you should build up to it before dropping it.

I'm not sure what's happening with the cymbal, but it seems to drown out the rest of the song a bit when it's played.

Thanks for the review.

The song isn't finished, i just decided to post it since I haven't posted anything in a while. And I wanted some opinions to see if it was worth continuing.

And now I know, the new version won't end abruptly like that. Don't know when it'll be finished

Well made

Quite the catchy tune, absolutely. Recording quality is not the best.

My biggest issue with this track is that the recording quality is as poor as it is. The guitar sounds can get trashy from times, which isn't fitting for this genre you're going for.

The song is also very simple, but it's catchy enough. Vocals are somewhat falsetto, which isn't necessarily bad, though it can be a bit much at times.

Drummer has some talent, I'm glad you didn't go for a completely normal rhythm all the way throughout.

Very relaxing

I especially enjoyed the buildup at the absolute beginning of this track. It's long, but it doesn't really drag on. The trumpet sample is absolutely amazing, and I love the dimmed effect you have at the beginning, as if pulling up to a place where this music is played.

The drums are very good, samples you used sound aawesome, and when the bass line replaces them for a part, the entire tracks feels very relaxed and real. The drums coming in helps the song progress. The rhythm you used was cool, a nice beat to support the sounds.

Maybe a tad repetitive, but nothing too bad, considering the length of the song.

BuggMusic responds:

Yeah, I really liked the sound of the buildup, kind of like standing outside a party then slowly walking inside. Thanks for the review!

Not sure about the wobs

It's not a bad track. The intro is great, though I feel the sound quality of the piano could be slightly improved with better samples or something like that.

When the buzzing synths first come in, and the build-up starts, it feels real good. However, the wobs you've made are a bit weak and do with a bit more force behind them.

Song feels really dark after the piano intro, somewhat menacing. It's a pretty neat track, and it actually loops pretty well too. Very good WIP, you could defo do something awesome with this if you keep working on it.

DjAbbic responds:

Thanks, the piano was rather bothering me too, I think I'll change that in the next WIP. Also, this was my first attempt at making a wobble, so it's not as good as it can be, but I'll spice that up a bit. I actually thought this might make a good halloween track when I first started it :P

Too powerful for background music

This track really is ominous, and I have to agree with zelazon, the first 20 seconds sound a bit like a Bond song.

The fact that the track feels and sounds so mystical works great with what you have in mind for it, alchemist's study, magic shop, wizard school, all should work very well. I see the song better used in a cutscene, though, because it really is quite powerful at times, too much so to be used as simple bg music.

The loop is very nice, so it is definitely possible. It could probably also work well in a forest scene of sorts.

I enjoy the main melody played on some sort of flute. The xylophone provides a thin backing for it, and adds a lot to the mystery of the song. Something about that instrument.

Composition is great and transitions are also really good.

MeteorManMike responds:

You're right, this would probably be better as a cinematic or a flash movie. Likely inspired by my time in band/orchestra.

I settled on the strange, wind-like synth specifically for a mysterious feel. Glad to see it worked.

Thanks for reviewing!

Too dim?

I'm gonna guess that the fact that the entire song is a bit unclear, in quality, isn't in thread with the title. I'm not sure what causes this, but it sounds like I'm standing outside of the room listening to this track.

The song has a nice composition and progression, it is carried throughout by the light synth and the drums, while the bass works as a strong force at points.

My big issue is the sound quality. If it's intentional, you should change it, if not, you should find a way to fix it.

I shall look into that. Thanks for the feedback and review!

Very well composed

The intro is quite slow, and it takes a couple minutes untill the really good stuff comes, but some of the tracks on this album are absolutely mint.

I do like how you consistently have a red wire throughout the entire album, something to follow. I'm not saying it's a concept album, I'm just saying it's very clear that this is one album, that these songs are from the same album.

The last couple of tracks are not as good. I guess this album has a high point in the middle before it drops down a bit. Not saying it's bad, just saying it doesn't have the same quality as in the middle. Some parts sound off, transitions aren't all that great etc.

Very nicely looped

As a stand-alone track, this wouldn't score very high, IMO. However, as a loop, it's really neat. I actually had this on in the background for about ten minutes without thinking of it.

Though the intro might drag out a tad, the song progresses nicely throughout the 1.30, and loops very nicely at the end, without missing a beat. I think this could be very well if put into a full song, used in a remix og in a general mix to transition between songs.

Decibel responds:

Yeah, it wouldn't score very high if it was the best song ever, people seem to like giving me 0's (Y)

It does drag out a little but we'll have to live with it ;P

Thanks :)

I like it when people call me bro.
