Some nice puzzles

Very well-done game. The learning curve is not too steep, and the steampunk nature is real cool.

The graphics are probably what separates this from most other similar games, where the goal is to get a certain object safely down on the ground. I'm a pretty big fan of steampunk, I think it looks real cool, and you did real good on that.

I liked the addition of an evil villain that you were to get off the screen, can't say I've seen that too often. Points for originality.

Background music was very fitting to teh steampunk style.

Variety in levels was also very good.

Simple and enjoyable

THat's a nice little game you have there. It's cute, it's easily enjoyable, and I can't find any big problems with it.

The style of it is pretty simple, a bit absurd, but simple. I mean, a big pig shooting cannons at ghosts, pirate cats, skeletons and cthulus? It's all a bit wild. But hey, it works out just fine, and I can't say there are any problems with it.

The music got quite annoying quite fast. It's very intense, and considering the laidback nature of the game, it should probably be changed a tad.

THe gameplay is really easy. There's no learning curve, because everyone should be able to get it right away, but it really is a bit too easy, IMO.

Oh so addictive

How this didn't get daily 1st is absolutely beyond me.

To me, this game basically has it all. Customization, Simple but entertaining gameplay, music that only gets annoying after the first three hours, and an eventual goal you'd want to accomplish.

The graphics are really great, funny and clean. Same goes for the animation, even though things usually move so fast it's hard to tell, what I can see is amazing.

The biggest thing about this for me is the addictiveness of the game. I've had this game open in a tab for two days to get to the finish, and I don't mind grinding for medals. It's so much fun! Thanks for this.

Really simple, but it works

I see how this can me really nice practice, but it's nothing special whatsoever. It's a simple sidescroller, with quite generic enemies, it doesn't have many flaws, but it could do a lot better.

Biggest issue for me is how incredibly slow you move. It feels tedious and takes forever to move along the map. The enemies are very generic, there really are only two unless you count the boss, which I found way to hard, mainly due to the very poor controls.

The level up system doesn't seem to do much, it heals me, and sure, it might make me stronger but there's not way for me to find that out without a damage counter of sorts. The game is so short that a proper level system wouldn't do much anyway, and leveling systems aren't normal in continuous 2D scrolles like this, unless it's separated in levels where you can upgrade in between.

The background music gets quite boring, the graphics are really, really simple, and the story is about as thin as it can get, all pretty important for an "RPG" sidescroller like this.

Thanks for the review. My purpose for this was learning and getting used to AS3, but I'll keep those tips in mind for the future. I wanted to expand it, but I have a nasty habit of going overboard and burning out : (

Flawless

Excellent little gadget, this here. Had I not been lazy, I'd have tried it out.

It really simplifies the making of a Minecraft skin, and I'm sure a lot of people can appreciate that. I especially like how it's possible to upload to Newgrounds, share with friends and so on, right here.

I like the fact that you can see the original minecraft skin underneath, so you know exactly where you're filling in at any time, very useful. This gadget makes it possible for those of us less savvy with artsy programs and stuff, to make our own skins. Cheers.

Simple timewaster

I'll be straight with you, I didn't find this game overly enjoyable, nor interesting to look at or ground-breaking in any way, but it did serve it's purpose. It gave me something to do while waiting for the movie to start.

The graphics aren't bad, it's not that, it just all seems like it was made in 2008 or 2009. These kind of graphics might appeal to some, but not to me. There is no underlying storyline to the game, which really isn't necessary for a timewaster.

A timewaster will, however, never score high in my book, because they aren't entertaining, they just somewhat suck you in.

The upgrades give you some sort of customization, which is nice, it adds something to the game, but I can't say it changed a lot, at least I didn't notice it. The difficulty curve is also a tad steep, first level beaing incredibly easy, but on the fourth or so, you're getting swarmed, and unlesss you choose the right upgrades, it's hard getting out of it alive.

Terrible hit detection

I honestly believe the only thing keeping people playing this game is the medals that come with.

Artwork, sure, it's nice. Cute little critters, and we either kill them or let them get spiked. Simple enough, not very original. Backgrounds simple, there's no real depth to this, but it's not a bad game.

The thing I really get annoyed by is the fact that the hit detection is absolutely horrible. It might be because it's impossible to see if you're even shooting anything, and there are no sound effects, but hitting the critters is impossible, not matter how much I spam the mouse button and wave it over the creatures. Some effects to show that you're actually shooting, and some better hit detection would be appreciated.

A few bugs

Fun, like always. Fun in a comedic way. As in haha. I laughed a lot. No sarcasm. I wouldn't give it a 9 if I was being sarcastic right now.

Graphics are simple, as is the case with all the :The game: games. Drawings are awesome, fit well with the theme, loving the music, the games are a lot of fun and actually somewhat challenging, if you're going for the medals, which i was.

Only thing was, on the Lost game, I found that switching shape will speeding into a wall could glitch you into or through the wall. A minor bug that got somewhat annoying the third time.

Not bad for a first.

It's definitely a pretty good game, but there are some things you could do to make it somewhat better.

The graphcis are pretty boring. The menus are actually quite painful too look at, with the black background and the flashy fonts and stuff. Think of adding a cooler background, and a simpler layout for the menu. Some menu music would bee nice as well.

The hit detection is rather horrible. Both your bullets and the ships, they hit you before they're close and vice-versa. Another thing is that the game feels pretty repetitive. I mean, it doesn't change much. Or it changes, I just died before I got that far. More enemies as you progress, different enemies, like enemies that shoot back and can take more shots. Upgrades to the weapons, etc.

THe music should be on as the games starts. I like that you have amute button, a lot of game-makers leave that out. Maybe some options for music?

Just a few tips that could help you make even better games, or improve this one.

Thanks for the feedback.
i'll try to improve the single player, i agree that it is quite boring ^^

regarding to the hit test problem - i am totaly aware of that but i just don't know how to "tell" flash to hit the enemy\ship only when your'e actually hitting it, because now its when you enter the "square" of the MC.(i think you know what i mean?)
as soon as i'll know how to fix it...well, i will fix it.
I'm planning to add levels and new enemies(and almost positive about adding a shop) in the next versions.

Thanks.

Far too simple

This game has some potential, but it's far too simple.

It took me probably less than five minutes to try all of the different options to see what the results were, which I find to be a bit too little.

The graphics are fairly simple. The different pictures for the different actions I can appreciate, but there's no animation, really. Some simple animations, like a win or a lose animation could be nice to have, or if you want to go further animations for all the buttons. And if you want to go even further, add different hills. Just for the fun of it, the looks of it. Just like changing the music.

About the music, it was good. I liked that you gave us the option to not only chose between the two tracks, but mute if we don't want any music. That's something many lack.

Other than that, I don't have much to say. Look at my notes above and improve the flash as you see fit. Good luck!

Win and lose animation, more hills. Music was good, longer. Thanks!

I like it when people call me bro.
