Great graphics, but a bit too simple.

Man, this needs a replay button earlier on than after the credits. Man, I suck at these games.

I really like the graphics in this game. You're going for a simple style, and you accomplish that greatly. The filter that we see the animation in the beginning through, and the animation in general, is really good. It's smooth and the style you draw in really looks good.

The ambient background sound fits very well to the escape game, but this IS a sort of funny escape-the-room game, so you could try to go for something a bit less incredibly dark. Then again, this makes it a bit more funny.

I like the different possible outcomes and the many different ways to end the game. However, I had to wait for quite some time after dying before I could replay, which was a bit annoying, and could make someone with a short attention span go away.

In general the game was a bit simple. I usually never find a way to finish these games, no matter how many times I die or fail, but this one I did in about fifteen minutes. Yes, I spent that much time here. I think.

And then again, it's a shortie, isn't it?

Educative, generic and filled with typos.

It's absolutely a helpful tutorial, that it is.

First off, tutorials are often very simple and generic. This, you want to avoid. The attention span of many just isn't wide enough to sit and stare at a simple screen with text and a few screen caps. You should pimp the tutorial a bit out. I'm not telling you to add glitter and glam, just to make it look a bit prettier than simple text on a black screen.

It was also very boring to sit and watch it for the first part, as there was no music in the back. I get that this was hard to do because you would later on use buttons that would start and stop music for examples, but you should try to find some way of using music in the parts that currently are mute.

There are multiple typos that you need to fix. Not really because it's hard to understand as it is now, but because when there are this many typos, it all looks a bit... amateur-ish. You want it to look professional, so get someone to proofread it for you.

Took a five-minute break here to kill a spider, lost my trail.

Oh, yeah, the music you used was ACE. Absolutely great stuff!

Fix the problems mentioned above and you'll have a really good tutorial.

Thanks for the great review man!

First, I didn't did this tutorial with more attention to the art, but, more to the coding to the people use, but I believe that I could be better, but I mean, just doing some layouts, or some design, not a perfect thing.

About the music during the tutorial, I throught that would be a bad idea, because, this was a tutorial from sounds, so hitting the example page, I'll need to stop the music in the exactly moment, so would be weird, stop one music to play another than restart that music.

About the grammar mistakes, yeah, I do these mistakes, because english is not my native language and I could use someone to fix for me, and I'm sure that would be better fixing it, because, as this is a tutorial, people can catch more what I mean and could be more easy to learn, if this is doing something hard to understand.

I didn't get what you mean by ACE, but if you mean the music from the tutorial examples, than thanks Steph by the awesome song.

Thanks again for the great review!

Good tutorial!

As with your last tutorial, this one's easily understandable. However, there are some things you should improve on.

I mentioned this in the last tutorial of yours I reviewed as well, you need to put in a mute button, and maybe a few more tracks. Right now, the music was very distracting to me.

Graphically it was okay, there weren't as many screen caps as in the last one, and screen caps are usual pretty smart to use, as it's easier to follow. Then again, this is for those that have done some flash in the past and knows their way around the software.
However, the fonts you used were horrible. One looked like Comic Sans, and the other was just a bit too flashy. The buttons were neat, but the fact that you had to hit straight on the text and that there isn't a box surrounding it made it a bit annoying. But hey, that's not too big a deal.

In conclusion, a good tutorial, seems helpful and could help me, but there were a bit too many things that just seemed to be very distracting to me.

You nailed every one. I agree completely.

Feels a bit cramped

And yes, I did resize it up.

I loved the original Stick RPG, had me occupied for a looong time, and if I had a PSP, I'd most def download this game.

Graphically, there's not much to say. It stays quite true to the original game, but the stick figures (when close up) look... disfigured. At least in the face. You didn't really need to add eyes or hair, just different colours to separate them from eachother should be enough.

Didn't get very far in the story mode, but what I did play was quite fun. I like your addition of achievements, as well. Training, working out, working, all of that worked out just fine. Didn't get Race or make to work out, so you should probably consider adding a tutorial/walkthrough at the beginning of some of the mini games.

Audio is casual, sort of muzak-feeling. Goes well with what was used int he original. All the score used really does fit the game, there's nothing too complicated or technical, which goes well with the simplistic style of the game.

Glad you liked it!

I added facial features because I was getting complaints about the graphics... And those complaints actually ceased once I added the facial features. Besides, everyone digs the Indian guy in the bar.

Sorry the race thing didn't work out for you. There's a full instruction manual at the beginning; just click settings and then the button in the far corner and you can read the full manual.

Still, looks like this is an overall positive review. :D

Simple and educational tutorial

Where was this tutorial back when I was learning?

It's a really good, simple tutorial. A lot of animators see tutorials as the easiest way to get something into the portal, and sure, it is, so there are many bad tutorials out there.

This one, however, is not one of them. It's a really well-made tutorial, explaining the simple tools of tweening and easing, two of the most used tools in flash.

Your language is very easily understandable. There are no typos (that I could see), and it shouldn't be too hard for a novice to understand. You use screen caps to show what you do, which is also very good. You take small steps, but not too small.

The music got a bit annoying after a while. You might want to add more tracks and a mute button, that's popular. Also, I guess you could make it look better, though that isn't really important. Some proper buttons and stuff?

A little simple

===============
Score: 7 / 10
Summary: A little simple
Review: I like these risk-kinda games, and like Fro, I'm usually pretty good at them. But, also like Fro, I sucked at this one.

Graphics and animations
They really look good, the drawings on the front-page, and the simple gameboard. I'd like to see some animations in fights, but that's not necessary, that's pretty much just a bonus.

Plot/Story/Gameplay
A backstory would be great, but it isn't necessary. I like these games, as I said, but this was kinda hard. It seemed like the computer was working together to kick my ass, and I had no idea what I was doing with the training of new units and building stuff. I was completely lost. You might just wanna have the units auto-generate, like in so many other games, but that would kinda ruin it.

I'd like the battle-module to be expanded, but as it is, it's simple, and I don't really know what's going on. More stats, that'd be awesome. Some battle animations, sure, I agree with Fro here.

Audio
Not saying the music is bad. It was actually pretty good, but I'd rather hear some music that really fit the era that this game is set in. It's not medieval enough. Great use of SFX.

Conclusion
Not a bad game, it has some potential. I'd love to see a bigger version with the tweaks and changes mentioned. I didn't get to see all of it, I didn't even get far into the easy mode, so you might wanna do something about the AI or the difficulty.

Overdone

===============
Score: 3 / 10
Summary: Overdone
Review: This is a game concept that is so old and overdone, that it gets a minus just because of unoriginalty.

Animations/Graphics:
Poor graphics, and no animation. When making these games, try to make them look at least a little appealing. If not, it's just another one of those games.

Plot/Story:
It's a mouse maze game. There is no story. There were hints towards humor, but nothing made me laugh or smile. The fact that you have to cheat to win is not exactly original, but it makes it better than some of the really generic mouse mazes.

Audio:
There wasn't any?

Conclusion:
A big disappointment, really. I didn't expect much, after all, it's a clock day flash, and that itself usually means it'll be horrible. You probably rushed this, as it needs a lot more work done. Add some music, better graphics, and try to make it original. Moving objects, in addition to alle these hidden cheats (right click, hidden wall etc.)

Incredibly entertaining

===============
Score: 10 / 10
Summary: Incredibly entertaining
Review: Few games manage to combine the entertainment of playing with fun and great graphics. This is one of those few.

Most of the games I play online are fun flash games, that usually have a stupid plot or bad graphics. This has neither.

Graphics/Animation
I love the graphics here. They're incredibly cartoony, and not just plain and boring. They're very detailed, compared to a lot of oother stuff, and even shadings are added. The drawings really look deep, meaning that there's a lot of depth in theg raphics. A good thing.
Animations are smooth. Turtle flies well, and the obstacles that move move smoothly, though somewhat slow.

Story/Plot
Toss the turtle, and watch him go. I guess there's not a lot of story in here, but that's the point of this. Games don't need stories or plots. At least not games like these!

Gameplay
Really a simple game. Easy to learn, and easy to play. Anyone can get all the badges, as long as they're patient enough. I love how the obstacles are completely random, and hard to find at times. I still haven't gotten Icarus, and it took me forever to get Abducted.
It's awesome how all the obstacles react in different ways. Something happens with every single one of them. It's great, and it's not generic.

Sound
Nothing to say here. Great background score, and great sound effects. Makes the game more immersive, and adds to the entertaining part of it.

Conclusion
I'm in love with you. Please have my babies.

Too little content

===============
Score: 3 / 10
Summary: Too little content
Review: This simply has too little content and variety to make a fun dress-up game.

Graphics and animation
Remember that graphics and animations, or at least the first part, are really vital parts in any flash. The graphics here are poorly drawn and way too simple. Don't use so simple colors, but mix em up a bit. Spend more time on the drawings, as well.

Story/Plot
There's not supposed to be much story here, but take this as an advice on what to add to the content.
More. Simply, more. More hair, more beard, different styles, more clothes, heck, add a body and a background, or even better, multiple backgrounds!

Audio
Please, PLEASE, add a mute button, for those of us who can't stand this kind of music. Or at least some other choices! This didn't really go well with a dress-up type game.

Conclusion
Not absolutely horrible, but not close to being good. You need to spend much more time on the drawings and add more content.

Too simple

===============
Score: 4 / 10
Summary: Too simple
Review: It's not the worst gadget I've seen, but it needs a lot of work.

Graphics and animation
The graphics were just too simple. THe strawberry and the clock were poorly drawn, and other than that there was the button, the field to type in, the bubble with the text and a pixelated bg. No animation.

Story/Plot
Really no plot, but I guess it's something that you're asking TEH king of the portal.

Audio
Should really add some, a few choices, as well as a mute button.

Gameplay
Gets boring really quick. The answers randomize between like five or six different possibilities, and sometimes the same will show up twice, or nothing will show up at all. In addition, there are spelling mistakes. A speakonia-voice should answer instead of text, in true CC-style. Add more answers, fix spelling mistakes, and then you might have something.

Conclusion
Bad graphics and non-existant aniamations make this a below-average flash. The fact that it gets boring real quick is a huge minus, as that's one of the most important things with flash, to keep viewers entertained. Also, some music would make this better.
