Love how such a simple concept can be so fun. Found myself replaying over and over trying to get the perfect run on each level. Minus points for being so short though, it's more of a demo than a full game.

A full game will release on Steam with more abilities, attacks and enemies later this year ;)
You can wishlist it on Steam on the meantime!
This is a great first step into game making imo. It looks sleek, and it works, which is more than can be said for most peoples' first attempts.
Still, I'd say it barely qualifies as a game. It's a very simple shooter game, and it gets really repetitive really fast. I got to level 3 and realized it was all just the same grind. Kill enemies, get ammo, get super weapon for a short time, repeat. Maybe add some sort of level system that's separated from this arcade style system you've got now? Or switching out the "ammo" system for a currency system to be used on various upgrades like bullet damage, reload time, variety of enemies etc
tk you so much for your feedback!!! i will continue to work on this game, this is my sandbox game, when i study GMS! :D
I think the only thing I could possibly complain about is that the audio quality and levels are a bit off at times, but that's a really really minor thing to complain about. It's a fun choose-your-own-adventure kinda game, except there's a lot more failing than in a regular game of the sort. It's funny, it's good, it's great!
Yeah the audio is what causes the most problems when the size gets really big. But I know I could use some work with balancing as well.
All right, played through the entire game to get all the achievements. I like the style, I like the sound, and I enjoyed... most of the game. I had to restart once because I messed up with my early plays and ended up never having enough money to keep my heroes alive, but that's my own bad.
In terms of the bonuses you get, I'd rather see these being permanent bonuses, but given that there's not real prestige system I understand that it might've made the game too easy. The way it is now, assuming you have a decent start, the game is fairly easy and fairly short.
Thanks for the review. The bonuses are permanent, though.
So simple, so funny. Absolutely love it, just like I love every single game in this series. Moar!
I'm glad!
Love the music.
I kinda like these rather simple quizzes. Well, I'm not saying this is an easy quiz, it's probably really really difficult if you don't really pay that much attention to the international news scene.
The music was really comfortable to listen to. I would not mind a pause button though, I figure all games hould have one no matter what. Graphically it's not a masterpiece, but the fact that some of these answers are so... stupid? that they make me giggle is a huge plus in my book.
I made some of them stupid on purpose, I could have given more realistic answers but there are dumb answers on multiple choice University exams so I carried on the tradition here!
It's a cute little game, but it's not much more than that. The graphics are real simple, as is the concept of the game. Stay warm, and get from A to B. Instead of having one separate Help page at the beginning though, I'd suggest having something more similar to a tutorial level, or a little hint when a new obstacle appears, like water. A simple "water will freeze you instantly" or something like that.
The difficulty curve is pretty good, the game does get progressively more difficult. I don't like the fact that as you move from one screen to another you'll sometimes end up running right into the water. Takes you a bit by surprise. If you could make this a 2D scroller I think that'd help out.
Thanks for your review :) that's quite some feedback for such a small game!
Personally I don't really like tutorials, and I don't think it would have fit with this game. However I agree that I could have introduced every aspect of the game a bit more subtle.
as for the instant death after a screen transition, after playtesting a few times it was not the greatest thing to add. My map editor wouldn't easily let me edit maps though and I wanted to have this finished on time.
I like it when people call me bro.
