Cool remix

Pretty cool remix, really still had the feel of the original track to it while adding some serious techno parts.

The intro drags on a bit, but builds up nicely for the actual track and melody to get going.

I do feel like you could flesh it out a bit more. It's only at about the 2-minute mark that I feel the song reaches it's full potential, with synths fleshing it out and building up the main melody line. You could also do some more with the rhythmics on it, they feel a bit dull right now.

Nice variation throughout, never being too random and always keeping it fresh.

Haunting

Not a bad piece at all, a bit messy, but that somewhat adds to the feel you were going for, something bad ass and menacing.

I feel that the title of the song works well with the actual track itself. Really well, as a matter of fact.

The rhythmics are really messed up, which fits the setting, but they do get repetitive after some time. The song in genera is a bit repetitive, though the ambient synths, what sounds like choiring in the back, keeps it fresh throughout. The high-pitched synth is really perfect for the track and the feel.

Not sure why it was put in the Video Game category, though, maybe more of an Industrial feel to it, to be honest.

Yeah, it's really repetitive and I wanted to do more with it, but I can't work FL Studio as well as I'd like to, so it ended up being a looping thing that would be good for a video game, "OH MY GOD THE CASTLE IS COLLAPSING AND WE HAVE TO GET OUT FAST!" sort of scene.

Another thing is that the music in Yume Nikki is almost all short loops, with a few exceptions. This fact makes it even more reminiscent of the game. If you look up what Yume Nikki is, it might help you understand what this song means to inspire.

Not bad

You're right, the samples really weren't the best, but the track itself is really good.

Intro is pretty good, really like the rhythmics you added in the intro, but it doesn't feel like it's building up to much. The bass drum through the track sounds really good, with those somewhat buzzy synths.

The more ambient synths really add to the track as well. Personally i feel a song always can do with some ambient synths.

It all feels a bit random, and some transitions sound a bit out of place. There's not constant flow to the track, it just really moves along, and changes quite a lot along the way.

Ending doesn't sound the best either, it's a bit shallow with just the synth and rhythmics, even though the rhythmics are pretty badass.

I really like the idea of the challenge, though. You did a great job with such limited tools. That alone gives you a bonus point from me, at least.

Because of the challenge, I feel like this song was limited from its full potential, which saddens me a little. But, it also feels good to have completed a full song with such limits. I wanted to really put some pizzazz into this song , but with the samples I was given it was really tough to put any real variety into the track. Also, my friend never really gave me a sample to use as a transition; no sample that could be built into a good sweeping sound, the cheap ass >.> All were limitations of the challenge though. I'm glad you liked the song, thanks for your review.

Sick

I'm not sure how to review this. I think it's basically perfect as is. One of the best Industrial pieces I've heard on NG.

The thudding bass, the drums in general, are awesome. Really brings the heavy out. Loving the buzzed synths you used. It's varied, it loops perfectly, and it keeps my head bobbing throughout.

Nice and cool

A bit more of a relaxed piece, when compared to the others I've reviewed thus far. Not a bad thing at all.

I'd like to hear this with a better audio quality, and I know I've said this about the other parts of the jam session as well, but some of these parts really need to be put into context with a full song.

I'm enjoying the diversity in what you've uploaded as well. Blues, experimenting with the amp, and this I feel ismore of a relaxed funky piece.

Really got some Hendrix vibes from this jam. That or Morello. Really digging it.

With skills like this, you should without a doubt be in a band. This would be an awesome intro to a killer piece. Would love to hear what kind of song would follow such an intro.

Real cool solo piece

Got some really badass parts in this. Loving the solo.

Like the intro, it sounds like the intro to a song, but suddenly jumps into sixth gear and a face-melter of a solo. Some really awesome hammer-ons and pull-offs, and an amazing flow to the entire solo.

Audio quality is not the best, and I'm thinking that drags this down a bit. Getting some noise on the heavier and louder notes.

Thanks very much. Audio glitches will be sorted, we were just testing new equipment. I'm assuming from what I can hear, the recording level was just a touch too high, so should be an easy fix hopefully. Thanks for the review.

Smooth

A very smooth, fluent and pretty big jam.

Love the bluesy feel throughout this jam. Not exactly one of the most popular genres on NG, so don't be expecting too much of a response from the community.

I like this, it's refreshing, and even though the audio quality isn't the best, it has some charm over it, the lo-fi feel of it. It feels very large, not sure how to describe it.

Anyway, a real cool jam. You should try getting a proper little band together, or at least a bass and vocals to jam along with.

A bit shallow

It's not a bad track, it has good rhythmics, nice progression, but it feels somewhat shallow at times and it doesn't have the best composition.

By shallow I mean that there's lack of something backing it up. There's the synth, the piano, some bass and the rhythmics. Some sound effects to go in the back, an ambient synth that flows with the beats, it would do wonders for it. When the piano comes in, it sounds a bit off key as well. The silence at the end you really need to cut off.

Quite the epic piece

In the proper definition of the word epic, that is.

I can hear that a lot of work went into this. The composition is quite amazing, and I can't really find anything I don't like.

The piano intro was amazing and really gave me shivers. Really set the entire scene for the boss battle and the song to come. I love the piano reverbs throughout the song as well, they really fill in a void that would've been really bugging me if they were not there.

The rhythmics are pretty cool, but I'm not too sure if you should have such a loud kick in a boss battle. Tunes like that are more often ominous, and I feel it just take a bit over from the bass MIDI tones.

The strings are also quite amazing, just stunning. I can imagine a really hectic boss battle going on here.

Not too sure about the guitar. Mainly because I don't like the sound of it, way to electric and metallic to fit into the song very well. I'm guessing you used the built in. Well, I know, from the description.

The outro and ending is very good, but again the kick kind of kills it a bit for me, it's just a bit too loud IMO.

Thankies! The guitar is slightly off, I admit, but I do enjoy the riffs that it plays.

I may lower the kick a bit in the parts without a soloing instrument and reupload it.

The piano was a real hard part to get right. I had to equalize it several times before it didn't take over the whole thing, I played it on a different set of speakers once and it was pretty much all that could be heard. Which, well, sucked.

Anyway, thanks again for the review. ^_^
