Sweet

This is an awesome jam. I can put this on repeat for an hour or two, easily.

Always nice to hear someone mess around with something new. It's varied, but never random, the synths are awesome, the melodic line is really damn good, the rhythmics could do with just a bit more variation, but the track is really cool either way.

InvisibleObserver responds:

Thanks sweetums! Your words fuel my self esteem.

Nice riffs

This might be the best cliip from your session I've heard thus far.

Though there is some background noises, the audio quality is pretty good, not the best, but still pretty good. you had some really cool riffs in there, though it isn't the most interesting to listen to at the beginning, though it picks up fairly soon. As I've said in the reviews of your other submissions, I'd like to hear you play an actual song, as jams are only fun for so long (:

Thanks for the review. Songs coming soon. And as stated before still getting used to the Zoom controller. Things will definitely improve, rest assured.

Cheers gamejunkie.

You impress me

There really isn't much good hip-hop on NG, a lot of it has terrible mic quality or just a bad rapper voice, but you really do it well.

Your lyrics are very varied, this time, what I caught of it anyway, as English isn't my main language.

Some people might downvote you for writing lyrics like this, and I'm not sure if I like how you somewhat play on writing lyrics that are shocking, but your beats are real good and your voice really works out. It's rough, dirty and fits the lyrics.

The track doesn't get tiring, and I really like the refrain, it's clear and has a nice tuny and beat to it.

Overall I can't find anything bad about this. I really enjoyed the use of, what was it, an ukulele, around 2.20. Really adds to it, and it's somethig new. The instruments you used are really cool. You're doing something new with the beat and backdrop for the rap.

Wow, I really appreciate the kind words.

However I didn't make the beat. It was made by Slantize for Shadowville.com I suppose that should be in the description, just lost track of time and forgot.

Regardless, I really appreciate the words on saying I rap well in comparison to many other hip-hop / rap artists on Newgrounds. That definitely means a lot to me.

Many thanks for the review.

Impressive.

I really like the beat in this track, impressive that most of it was done in one night.

I really like the main synth, has a 70s disco feel over it, and the track itself sounds very cheerful and happy. It's energetic, and I really like the rhythmics in the piece. Especially when they first kick in, sounds really cool right there. The intro is awesome, really gives you a taste of what's to come, and the outro also sounds really well-made.

Overall good composition. It feels fleshed out as well, as you have some ambient synths to back up the main melody. Did I hear some choiring in the beginning of the track?

1600 responds:

Thank you, and yes that was a bit of choir I threw in.

Wow

I knew you were good, but I never knew you had such a knack for atmospheric ambient tracks. This one really gives me the feeling of playing some sort of RPG, in a forest. Great stuff.

The flutes are so perfect in this track, and brings out emotions in the listener, while the ambient synths and the noise with the birds in the background really brings out the forest feel of the track. I really like what you did with the drums, though they could be lowered just a tad, a tiny tiny bit, as they sound a bit too loud right now.

Really an amazing track. I could relax to this.

Thank you Soap!
Yeah, Ambient music is my life and constant inspiration. No kidding about it.
I like to blend styles and experiment with different textures each time... it's like being in a 4X game, exploring unique territories, colonizing them. Some of 'em I manage to greatly take care of, some others well... are not for me.
Thanks again for your impressions,
KKS

Well composed

A really nice track you have here. At times I do feel the video game sound, like the more dreamy part at about 1.20, which somewhat reminds me of a rainy forest scene in an RPG game.

There seems to be some noise in the same part. I¨'m pretty sure that's not due to my headset. Might want to do some mastering to it.

The rhythmics are really good, albeit maybe a tad loud at around 2.15. The intro isn't the best I've heard either, it's a bit bland, and the synths aren't the best. The song itself is quite different from the beginning of it. The beat here is a bit weird as well, I'm not sure if it was intended to have that double clap, or whatever sample it is, but it carries on for a while.

Not a bad track, the noise quite annoyed me, but it's really well composed with some nice transitions and a good composition.

Whack

This is an awesome track, really digging it.

The intro is really badass and has a real proper buildup to the track before it starts. The transition at 1 minute is so smooth. I'm loving the beats at about 1.25 as well. I can't really find anything I don't like about this track. Really cool transitions, really badass buildups. Maybe a bit more bass would be cool. Track feels really fleshed out. I hope you don't mind me listening to this while streaming StarCraft 2 tournaments and stuff over on justin.tv. I'll be sure to release a playlist linking to this page (:

Thank you, and no I don't mind at all. And I will definitely remember the bass issue next time.

Cool remix

Pretty cool remix, really still had the feel of the original track to it while adding some serious techno parts.

The intro drags on a bit, but builds up nicely for the actual track and melody to get going.

I do feel like you could flesh it out a bit more. It's only at about the 2-minute mark that I feel the song reaches it's full potential, with synths fleshing it out and building up the main melody line. You could also do some more with the rhythmics on it, they feel a bit dull right now.

Nice variation throughout, never being too random and always keeping it fresh.

Thanks :)

this is actually an older song of mine so my skills weren't quite as fine tuned as i try to keep nowdays. but its still a feeble attempt to remix something short ;)

Haunting

Not a bad piece at all, a bit messy, but that somewhat adds to the feel you were going for, something bad ass and menacing.

I feel that the title of the song works well with the actual track itself. Really well, as a matter of fact.

The rhythmics are really messed up, which fits the setting, but they do get repetitive after some time. The song in genera is a bit repetitive, though the ambient synths, what sounds like choiring in the back, keeps it fresh throughout. The high-pitched synth is really perfect for the track and the feel.

Not sure why it was put in the Video Game category, though, maybe more of an Industrial feel to it, to be honest.

SoulSecure responds:

Yeah, it's really repetitive and I wanted to do more with it, but I can't work FL Studio as well as I'd like to, so it ended up being a looping thing that would be good for a video game, "OH MY GOD THE CASTLE IS COLLAPSING AND WE HAVE TO GET OUT FAST!" sort of scene.

Another thing is that the music in Yume Nikki is almost all short loops, with a few exceptions. This fact makes it even more reminiscent of the game. If you look up what Yume Nikki is, it might help you understand what this song means to inspire.

I like it when people call me bro.
